What is mindfulness?

From mindful.org: Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. It’s not all in your head—you can practice mindfulness by sitting down for a formal meditation practice, or by being more intentional and aware of the things you do each day.

What is meditation?

The practice of sitting still and breathing, letting thoughts come into your mind as they may, and then letting them go without judging them or getting carried away by them. During meditation, the breath is your anchor to keep you tethered to the present moment when your mind inevitably drifts off. Meditation can be done on your own or in a group. You don't need anything special, just a place to sit comfortably. A teacher helps!

Martha's Classes

Join her guided group meditations, which are transmitted online, to receive the benefits of her many years of experience and to learn how to meditate whilst benefiting from the group energy, but still from the comfort of your own home. A typical meditation class begins with a 15 - 20 minute guided meditation. After that, there's room for comments and question. The class ends with another short meditation.
